Offshore wind energy is an important piece of the energy transition puzzle in both Australia and Germany. While Germany has been deploying offshore wind for over 10 years, Australia is just embarking on this journey with first offshore wind generation slated to come online by the end of the decade.
To see for themselves what has worked in Germany in building this industry, a delegation of Australian experts from government, local stakeholders, industry, civil society, and research institutions travelled to Germany in March 2024 on invitation of the Australia-Germany Energy Partnership.
Building on the fruitful exchange, adelphi, the Clean Energy Council and the German-Australian Chamber of Industry and Commerce invite you to explore some of the key issues identified during the trip in a virtual follow-up workshop.
We will recap the insights from the trip, discuss the most recent developments in both countries, learn from industry experts, and look at the critical role ports will play in the expansion of offshore wind in the coming years.
