International Collaborations in Space & Health
Returning for the second year in a row, AHK Australien, along with the German Business Chamber of South Australia, present International Collaborations in Space & Health.
Space medicine, space life sciences and biomedical microgravity research are topics that connect our daily lives on Earth to what is happening in space. For example, the changes caused by the space environment to astronauts’ bodies can be examined as models of ailments such as aging, osteoporosis, and wound healing.
On the International Space Station, life sciences research is conducted to understand phenomena such as the effects of fluid dynamics on protein crystallisation and its implications for drug delivery. Beyond this, fundamental plant science is also being investigated to understand the growth of food under harsh and restricted conditions, particularly for future space missions.
We are excited to feature CTO Asia Pacific Region and Astronaut from Axiom Space, Koichi Wakata, as well as highly experienced speakers from both the space and health fields.
