Business Delegation to West Australia: Critical Minerals
Join us on a delegation trip to Perth and Kalgoorlie to experience mining operations first-hand and to directly engage with representatives from industry, research and the state government to form long-lasting relationships between Germany and Australia. The delegation will take place from 3rd to 6th of November 2024.
The global race towards a net-zero carbon emissions future requires a wide range of new technologies in the areas of renewable energy, electrification and energy efficiency. All of these technologies build on a reliable supply of critical minerals like Lithium, Cobalt, Graphite, Rare Earths or Nickel, most of which are available in Australia in large quantities and are extracted (or planned to be extracted) by Australian mining companies.
As one Australia’s closest partners in Europe, Germany is developing innovative technologies for current and next-generation batteries, renewable energy systems and other future technologies. German car manufacturers are ramping up their EV production, relying on a steady supply of raw materials for batteries and battery components.
Both Germany with its world-leading manufacturing sector and Australia with one of the world’s best developed resources sectors can profit from this development – bilateral collaboration is crucial though to reap all the benefits.
Therefore, the German-Australian Chamber of Industry & Commerce and the German-Australian Critical Minerals Alliance are pleased to offer the unique opportunity to be part of a delegation trip to Western Australia to experience current developments in the critical minerals sector – from research and politics to mining & processing.
All delegates will be able to directly engage with representatives from industry, research and the government to form long-lasting relationships between Germany and Australia.
