Worldwide people are celebrating the Munich-originated tradition of Oktoberfest. What is now known as THE German cultural festival, goes back to the early 19th century. But did you know, before it became a three-week long public festival, it all started with a royal wedding between Crown Prince Ludwig and Princess Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen? As one big celebration isn’t enough, the couple decided to extend the festivities and include horse races and other spectacles into the multi-day celebrations. Opening it to the public for years to come, the traditions slightly changed and evolved to what the world now knows as the Oktoberfest.
Combine Networking with Tradition, Team Bonding with a Cultural Deep-Dive
For this Official German Oktoberfest in Melbourne, we have strictly limited tickets available. Your participation will solely depend on a first come first serve principle. It is an exclusive AHK Australien and Honorary Consulate General event which means only members and invited people by the Honorary Consulate General have access to purchasing tickets. As part of your ticket contingent, however, you can extend this invitation to your team, partners, customers, and suppliers.
Witness the traditional tapping and call out “O’zapft is” in your best Bavarian accent, of course followed by “Ein Prosit” with authentic German beer and hearty German fare. Share a full table with your team and meet fellow German organisations in the room in a very casual, laid-back setting.
Michael Pearce SC, Honorary Consul-General for Germany in Melbourne, and Marko Walde, Executive Director of AHK Australien, are excited to welcome you to the Hofbräuhaus Melbourne.
