In our discussion panel, pharmaceutical and medical technology companies with a European background are cordially invited to engage in a direct exchange with Dr Elaine Juliane, co-founder of the European Access Academy. Together, they will discuss how the evolving framework for health technology assessment (HTA) in Europe and Australia is impacting innovation, access and global competitiveness.
Against the backdrop of the current EU HTA project on centralised clinical assessment and the Australian centralised HTA and procurement environment, the discussion will examine various assessment models and consider where Australia can learn from the EU's experience and vice versa. Participants will examine how HTA systems influence global market entry strategies, particularly in an increasingly US-centric market, and what this means for Australia and Europe as first-to-market destinations for global and smaller biotech and medtech innovators.
The roundtable will also address how success in HTA can be defined and measured from both a system and industry perspective, and explore opportunities for deeper international collaboration between HTA bodies.
The session is designed as an interactive discussion and aims to provide you with insights into the EU process that can serve as a basis for further strategy development, advocacy and engagement as the EU HTA reform moves from policy to implementation.
All participants are welcome to contribute their own questions and thoughts.
The discussion will feature guests from other European countries.
