Energy Symposium

As renewable energy capacity continues to rise on the Australian grid, the need for energy storage to manage intermittent wind and solar generation is becoming greater. By 2050, the Australian Energy Market Operator predicts that Australia will need around 46GW of energy storage capacity, requiring a combination of storage methods, grid management systems and reforms to transmission infrastructure to meet demand.

On the 5th of June, the German-Australian Chamber of Industry and Commerce will host an industry conference on the topic of Energy Storage including Green Hydrogen. German and Australian experts from the energy sector will give in-depth information about the trends and developments within the industry and representatives from innovative German companies will present their products and experiences. The event will also be an excellent networking opportunity for all participants.

The conference takes place during the visit of a business delegation of German companies in the energy storage and green hydrogen sectors. The delegation takes place between the 5th and 9th of June with the overarching goal of supporting German SMEs in finding business partners and collaborations in the Australian market. If you have an interest in meeting with any of the companies in the delegation, please contact the Energy Cluster.

The conference and delegation are supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action.

Enapter:

Enapter is a rapidly growing company based in Pisa, Italy with offices in Germany and Thailand. The company develops and manufactures the patented anion exchange membrane (AEM) electrolysers for hydrogen production from water and electrical energy. Hydrogen is considered the most important element to replace hydrocarbons such as gas, oil, coal and all fossil fuels. Green Hydrogen is made with electricity from renewable energy source; it is the base substance to make any carbon free fuel and gas, but can also be used to generate electricity. Hydrogen is an energy carrier useable to satisfy heating or cooling needs, mobility in the transport sector, or to provide feedstock in industry. Enapter is on a rapid growth path, aiming to mass produce the electrolysers. A mass produced AEM electrolyser will become a commodity and compete with fossil fuels purely on price.

H2Core Systems:

H2 Core Systems is a German manufacturing integrator, based in Heide (Germany), who builds hydrogen-based systems around the Enapter AEM electrolyser module. These systems are used for applications such as on-site H2 production for manufacturing, as load dumping applications for utilities, as hydrogen refuelling stations and when used in combination with fuel cells, as power systems for remote off-grid community applications. H2 Core Systems provides integrated, scalable, low-maintenance plug & play solutions for green hydrogen-based systems worldwide together with its partners - for original equipment manufacturers, commercial transportation, telecommunication, oil and gas companies, health industry and power companies. H2 Core Systems ensures high availability and short delivery times based on serial production and offers commissioning, full system support and service. The perfect solutions for a zero-emission future!

INERATEC:

INERATEC is a pioneer in the field of Power-to-Liquid applications. The company supplies sustainable fuels as well as chemical products. Modular chemical plants for power-to-X and gas-to-liquid applications use hydrogen from renewable electricity and greenhouse gases such as CO2 to produce e-kerosene, CO2-neutral gasoline, clean diesel or synthetic waxes, methanol or SNG. Founded in 2016, INERATEC has already implemented industrial-scale power-to-liquid plants at German sites to boost the availability of sustainable fuels and chemicals in various transport sectors such as aviation.
