'A European strategy for sustainable and affordable energy generation –how does Australia measure up?'

Join the Chamber for the first Breakfast Forum of 2018, featuring a panel of experts from Germany and Australia on strategic energy questions and their implications for businesses.

Three top-level speakers will elaborate Europe’s transition from a carbon and nuclear driven energy market to a low emission economy, as well as the related challenges such as energy security and the economic consequences of climate change. The panel will then offer a comparative look at the current energy discussion in the Australian market.

Lastly, the event will feature tangible insights into the work of the Australia-Germany Energy Transition Hub, seeking to engage Australian businesses in applied energy research in both countries.A topical introduction and panel moderation will be offered by international energy experts, law firm Bird&Bird.

  • James Durnall, Co-head Energy & Utilities, Bird & Bird Australia (Chair)
  • Professor Dr Friedbert Pflüger, Director, European Centre for Energy and Resource Security, King’s College London
  • Dr Joachim Lang, Director General, Federation of German Industries
