08.04.2019

Victoria is set to host its fourth Digital Innovation Festival (DIF) in 2019 with hundreds of technology and innovation events championing inclusion and ideas across the state's key industries.

Over two weeks – from August 23 to September 6 –the Victorian Government sponsored DIF will bring together visitors from across the country and the world to collaborate, share ideas, network and learn new skills.

Celebrating technology and Victoria's culture of innovation, the festival seeks to improve lives through the application of new knowledge, technologies and practices.

From small businesses and community groups in digital skills workshops, to people with a disability using technology to find solutions to everyday challenges, DIF has something for everyone.

Since its inception in 2016 DIF has grown rapidly, hosting more than 400 events attended by more than 15,000 people in 2018.

At the centre of DIF is the national iAwards, hosted by the Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA), recognising and rewarding excellence in Australian technology and innovation.

Returning events confirmed for this year include Binary Shift Gippsland, Churchill Club Tech Trends Debate, Coworking Summit, Digital AI Summit and the Pearcey Oration. New in 2019 is the ASTN Sports and Data Analytics Conference and Awards.

Digital technology is a major contributor to Victoria's economy, with the ICT industry generating around $36.6 billion in revenue annually and employing more than 117,000 people. For more information visit the Digital Innovation Festival website.
