The German Film Festival 2019 has a very thrilling line up this year bringing the best of the German cinema. This year we celebrate that it was 30 years ago that the Berlin wall came down and so our spectacular selection is a reflection on the same.
As well as that (for all design and architecture lovers) we will be showcasing Bauhaus Spirit: 100 Years of Bauhaus, to celebrate such a timeless movement that is still prominent today.
We will also be showcasing 6 phenomenal films for kids and families, so there’s really something for all ages and tastes! This strand is called KINO FOR KIDS!

This edition will screen 29 Australian premieres with a line-up that includes box office hits and award-winning dramas straight from this year’s Berlinale. The festival is a fantastic celebration of German culture and filmmaking. Opens 21 May with the much-anticipated thriller ‘Balloon’, with a Bretzel and sparkling on arrival, followed by the film and after party with German bites, a DJ show spinning 1970s German tunes and drinks!
