DB Schenker officially opens their new Perth cold store facility

DB Schenker Perth held the official opening of their new cold store in Perth last week helping to extend their Perishables logistics footprint within Australia.

The event was exceptionally well attended with over 80 customers and service providers joining us to celebrate.

DB Schenker have had a continuous presence in Western Australia since the mid-1960’s and the company, which has a strong Perishables presence on the East coast of Australia and in New Zealand, has invested in this world class facility at their High Wycombe site. The site is conveniently located both near to the airport and the harbour at Fremantle and has been our home for the last ten years in Perth. The cold store boasts over 500 square metres of floor space with a large ante room, two chillers and a freezer. There is capacity to store product up to four pallets high and the site has an unbroken cold chain to maintain product integrity.

DB Schenker is involved in Perishables logistics in various regions around the world and expanding their Australian footprint is the next logical step. There is an increasing demand for high quality product into the Asia Pacific countries, food that has provenance and traceability, and this new facility adds the required integrity to the supply chain.
