02/10/2023

Sydney, 2 October 2023. We are saddened to announce Rolf Drohn has decided to leave the Board of Directors of AHK Australien. Rolf Drohn has a longstanding commitment of over 26 years to the German-Australian Chamber of Industry and Commerce and has recently served as Vice Chair and Treasurer of the Board of Directors. His invaluable expertise, competence and warm personality will be greatly missed within the Board and AHK’s governance.

“Rolf Drohn has been a crucial part of the Board of Directors and could draw from a wealth of experience and knowledge of AHK’s governance and journey here in Australia. His resignation was met with great sadness from all board members. Rolf’s enormous contribution and dedication over the time of his involvement with the chamber and the board have been a phenomenal guidance in recent times and we thank him for all his work for this great member organisation. Rolf, on behalf of the board, we wish you all the best on your future endeavours and hope you stay in touch.”, states Rebecca Lee, Chair of the Board of Directors.

Dr Christian Gross, Interim Executive Director of AHK Australien, mentions: “While I haven’t known Rolf for long, I am impressed and inspired by his vast knowledge and longstanding commitment to our network. AHK Australien can truly be proud to have had Rolf on the Board of Directors in recent times and being able to trust his expertise as Vice Chair and Treasurer. Rolf leaves a legacy and big shoes to fill. The whole AHK team wishes you well, Rolf. While we are saddened to see you leave as an invaluable Board Member, we continue to look forward seeing you as a member at many of our events and initiatives.”

Rolf Drohn said he is looking forward to contributing to the future success of the AHK as an active member and witness an energetic lead up to the 50-year anniversary in 2027, and to see projects, especially in the Energy Partnership, reach maturity. He would like to thank the Board, the membership, employees, and government stakeholders for the trust allowing him to take a leadership position in an organisation close to his heart for 26 years and counting.

AHK Australien thanks Rolf Drohn for his loyalty and commitment to the organisation and the wider German-Australian Business Network.
