At the Annual General Meeting on Thursday, 26 May 2022, our AHK Australien Board of Directors elected a new Chair and Vice-Chair and welcomed three new Board Directors.
Congratulations to the newly elected Chair of the Board, Rebecca Lee, Managing Director of Merck Life Science in Australia and New Zealand. Rebecca is an outstanding leader with a passion for positive impact on people, planet and business. With over 20 years' experience working for German-headquartered organisations and having been on the Board since 2018, she possesses a unique perspective on the Australian German business landscape.
Together with our Chamber’s Vice-Chairman Rolf Drohn, who has been serving the Chamber in a variety of capacities for more than 25 years with his invaluable expertise in international tax and tax policy, the AHK governance is in competent hands to receive strategic guidance and financial rigour.
Our new board members are:
Rafael Koenig, Managing Director at Weidmueller Australia. Rafael brings vast expertise in the German tradition of Mittelstand businesses run by families and enthusiasm in all matters concerning energy transition.
Rosanne Jessop, Managing Director, Pilz Industrial Automation. Rosanne's international leadership skills and passion for inclusion and diversity will add great value to the Board.
Hanno Blankenstein, CEO and Founder at Unleash live. Hanno is renowned for his entrepreneurial drive and start-ups with most valuable insights such as AI technologies.
Our leaving Board members are:
Simone Whetton who provided invaluable support in both the Board and as Chair of the Policy Advisory Committee. Her insights into all matters of finance and constitution, paired with her passion for people and culture, have strengthened the Chamber's governance framework.
Dr Wolfgang Babeck, for all his advice across many areas together with his unique expertise in championing the AHK Australien as a leading market entry consulting services provider.
