Case Study: Schomaecker Federnwerk - Business Presence in Australia

‘Schomäcker Federnwerk GmbH is a leading German manufacturer of high-quality springs for commercial vehicles. Looking back on over 140 years of experience and innovation, the company creates customised developments in original equipment and are also a highly competent partner for the parts trade. At their headquarters in Melle, they produce in excess of 3,000 types of springs on a site covering 43,500 square metres. With a capacity of up to 18,000 tons per year, Schomäcker processes high-quality steel into quality springs.

The company produces primarily parabolic, multi-leaf and beam springs for air-suspended axles for trucks, vans, and trailers. But stabilizers and accessories for springs are also part of the product range. The company's springs can be found in commercial vehicles used in different industries, such as the agricultural, mining, and quarrying industry. Schomäcker’s partners include well-known companies such as BPW, Daimler, Gigant/ Krone, Kaessbohrer KTT, SAF-Holland, ZF and many others. 

So far, Schomäcker exports its quality products to over 50 countries worldwide, including to Australia. Their aim now is to expand their business in Australia even further. "Research has shown that there is a large market for our products in Australia. For this reason, we would like to successively expand our activities to increase our market share in Australia," says Klaus Borchelt, Sales Manager at Schomäcker.
