Our ESG Circle

In the ever-evolving landscape of environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues, 2024 marks the start of a new chapter. With the global community facing unprecedented challenges, companies are at a turning point and are being forced to reassess and reshape their strategies with sustainability at the forefront. The coming year promises to be a time of profound change, with ESG principles taking centre stage and influencing business decisions in never-before-seen ways. Our ESG Circle offers our members an exclusive platform to engage with the multi-layered world of ESG considerations. In today's changing corporate landscape, ESG factors play a central role in shaping corporate strategies, investor decisions and societal impact. From climate change and community engagement to ethical corporate governance and stakeholder accountability, the ESG framework encompasses a wide range of issues that are increasingly important to corporate sustainability and responsibility. Join us to explore the complexities of ESG integration, share insights and foster collaboration among like-minded professionals. Our Circle provides a supportive environment where members can share ideas, address challenges and cultivate best practices to drive sustainable business initiatives. Adhering to the confidentiality principles of the Chatham House Rules, members can engage in open discussions and collective learning to drive positive change in their organisations and beyond.

Session's Topic: Why ESG should not be all about reporting

The ESG Circle provides an invaluable platform for member companies to explore the pressing issues surrounding Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) issues. It's an opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions, share insights and explore emerging ESG trends, challenges and opportunities. Our upcoming session will focus on "Why ESG should not be all about reporting". We'll be looking at the implications of the Australian government's steps to make ESG reporting mandatory for major companies and financial institutions, which is expected to start this year. The Australian Treasury is also leading in formulating a comprehensive sustainable finance framework, aligning with the government's pledge to attain net-zero emissions by 2050. Whilst looking at the upcoming reporting requirements, we will also take a look at why all eyes should not be on reporting, but on other aspects as well.

Following the insightful discussion, there will be time to network with industry peers and expand your professional network.
