Traditionally, Christmas does seem to come twice a year at the German-Australian Chamber and our members and friends were so lucky to be invited to both.
On 13 December, we opened our doors to give guests the chance to meet chamber staff in their natural environment – the Chamber’s Sydney office.
Canapés, drinks and colourful, decorated Christmas trees with nicely wrapped presents underneath them were waiting for our guests at this year’s end-of-year reception on a delightfully warm and charming Sydney summer night. It was wonderful to turn the office into a festive event space, with great conversation, plenty of laughs and a nice running slideshow of our favourite event pictures of the year.
We were delighted about the overwhelming popularity of our event in the busiest time of the year, with approximately 50 members joining us to celebrate an exciting and successful year for the Chamber. In his short speech during the evening, Executive Director Kristian Wolf thanked all attendees for their excellent cooperation and support in 2017 and mentioned the biggest event in German-Australian bilateral history, which the Chamber hosted in its 40th anniversary year – the Asia Pacific Regional Conference in Perth.
We at the Chamber hope that everyone enjoyed the evening and would like to express our gratitude to everyone in attendance, including board members and Consul-General Mr Lothar Freischlader. We are looking forward to welcoming you to one of our upcoming events in 2018.
