Lakeba’s Shelfie at the EuroCIS 2019 in Dusseldorf

27/03/2019

More than 13,000 retail specialists from 94 countries attended EuroCIS this year, and over 2,300 businesses exhibited in what it is considered “The world’s number.1 Retail Trade Fair”. Shelfie, one of the most successful Lakeba ventures, took to the stage with partner Axis.

Launched in 1997, EuroCIS is a congress and exhibition has evolved to become the leading retail technology trade fair in Europe, an absolute must for the retail industry and technology specialists, like Shelfie.

Shelfie, a Lakeba Group venture, is an image analytics platform designed to provide insights into the physical shelves of a retail environment. The system is made up of an analytics platform, image capturing devices and reporting dashboard.

Following closely on the heels of their presence at NRF (National Retail Federation) in New York, the Shelfie team, led by the GM Vinuraj Koliyat, headed to the three day EuroCIS conference in Düsseldolf, Germany, in late February.

Shelfie blended well with their partner Axis Communications, sharing their booth, and offering a powerful platform to show the strength of the solution to visitors and retailers.
“Having the opportunity to showcase the Shelfie solution together with our wonderful partner Axis was an extraordinary way to both demonstrate the full potential Shelfie can deliver in the retail industry and also show how we are adding strategic value to our partner” Vinuraj Koliyat, Shelfie GM, commented.

Since it was launched back in 2017, Shelfie has helped some of the world’s leading retailers identify gaps or discrepancies on store shelves, maintaining shelf availability and reducing out-of-stock merchandise. The trade show was overall a great success for the Australian business team and they received a volume of interest and positive feedback from visitors and retailers across the globe.

Shelfie is running live pilots across six of the largest global retail organisations and further cemented its relevance by signing a three-year contract with another pan-European retailer. These growth opportunities all combine to consolidate Shelfie’s presence across Europe.

On the platform front, the Shelfie team have released a new feature- Reading $ value from the label, the functional accuracy of which is currently being tested.

After gaining valuable insight on the latest global trends in the fast-moving retail technology world and showcasing our platform at EuroCIS, the Shelfie team has been inspired to push full steam ahead on new and exciting developments for the platform.
