Free Trade Agreement a key topic for lawyers conference

10/04/2018

The German-Australian-Pacific Lawyers Association will hold its next annual conference on 27 and 28 April in Sydney and the key focus will be the upcoming Australia-EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA).

The conference participation is open to other interested participants, please find registration information below.

The German-Australian Chamber is delighted that Dr Angelika Yates, Special Counsel at Addisons and member of the Chamber’s Policy Advisory Committee, agreed to provide an update about the priority area from the perspective of the German-Australian business community on behalf of our Policy Advisory Committee.

Other outstanding speakers include:

  • Dr Marie Kronberg, Economic Counsellor of the German Embassy, and
  • Tim Goulain from our close partner, the European Australian Business Council.

The German-Australian Chamber expects the start of the formal negotiations for the Australia-EU FTA in the middle of this year and strongly supports the negotiation of a comprehensive FTA to remove tariff and non-tariff trade barriers affecting the German-Australian business community.

Please contact our Policy Director Dr Michael Zettinig if you have questions about the FTA developments and the Chamber’s position.
