You are invited to a Business Dinner at Blackbird Restaurant overlooking the Brisbane River and Story Bridge

The German-Australian Chamber of Industry and Commerce, together with its ExecutiveMember Rheinmetall Defence Australia, invites you to a Business Dinner at Blackbird Restaurant overlooking the Brisbane River and Story Bridge.

Rheinmetall Defence Australia is making a significant contribution to the Queensland economy and Australia’s security by providing 211 light armoured vehicles out of their new facility in Ipswich, west of Brisbane. The construction of the centre will support 200 direct jobs over three years and open the way for local businesses to participate in Rheinmetall’s global supply chains. At the same time, this selection by the Australian government is another element of the ever-closer Australia-Germany relationship, also supported by the current negotiation of the Australia-EU Free Trade Agreement.

We have the exclusive opportunity to discuss with Rheinmetall’s Managing Director Gary Stewart and Jeff Connolly, CEO of the Siemens group in the Australia Pacific region and Chairman of the Board of the German-Australian Chamber, how this strategic investment related to other elements of the bilateral relationship and what opportunities it opens up for local businesses. We also expect a senior representative from the Queensland government explaining the State government’s objectives from this investment.

You will enjoy welcome drinks and canapes, followed by a three-course sit-down dinner featuring local Queensland fresh produce and have the opportunity to hear from the Chamber’s new Executive Director, Alexandra Voss, who kindly agreed to moderate the discussion. This event will also be an opportunity to mix and mingle with members of the Chamber Board and the Queensland Chapter Executives.
