Breakfast Forum with Carsten Ahrens, CEO of Giesecke+Devrient Mobile Security GmbH on 21 November in Melbourne.

Carsten Ahrens will be joining us from Germany for a keynote on “Managing digital identities – key to transparency & trust in the connected world”. Following his keynote, a panel of cyber security & IoT experts will further explore the topic.

There is a constant flow of technical innovations in the digital world. What remains consistent is the question of data security.

In the past 20 years, we have seen a boom in mobile adoption and the arrival of the Internet of Things. At a time when consumers are using smartphones more than computers to access digital services, access needs to be simple, yet highly secure.

Considering the sheer number of IoT devices that will be connected to the Internet and how much data will be generated by those devices, the rapidly evolving cyber-threat landscape imposes security risks such as impersonation, identity theft, and hacking.

Our panel will explore current trends in mobile security, security risks in the ever-expanding IoT world and the importance of digital trust in this time of connectivity.

Speakers and panellists:

• Carsten Ahrens, CEO, Giesecke+Devrient Mobile Security
• Matt Lange, Head of Cyber Security Strategy and Architecture at Australia Post
• Dr Carsten Rudolph, Director, Oceania Cyber Security Centre and Associate Professor, Monash University
• Vanja Joannidis, Senior Manager, Cyber Security, EY Melbourne
