...with La Camara, the Spanish-Australian Chamber

On the evening of 1 June, the German-Australian Chamber was pleased to hold the Vivid Light Festival 2017 Networking Night- a joint event with La Camara, The Spanish-Australian Chamber. Around 100 guests from both chambers arrived at the Blackbird Café & Bar at Darling Harbour.

Upon registration, attendees began to mingle, taking in the stunning views of Darling Harbour as the sun set slowly over the skyline. Gradually, the lights that make up Vivid began to turn on, filling the entire harbour with a soft, pulsing ambience of colour.

As the night progressed, everyone enjoyed a range of drinks and delicious pizza and canapes as they networked. Once darkness had fallen, all guests turned to enjoy the best view of the spectacular light and water show Magicians of the Mist, as well as magnificent views of the wharves, International Convention Centre and of course the Maritime Museum, whose roof was converted into a gigantic animation screen (of sorts), like the Sydney Opera House in Circular Quay. As part of Magicians of the Mist, 12 massive pumps propelled 28 tonnes of water into the air each minute, whilst lasers, fountains, flame jets, music, fireworks, fireballs, LEDs and searchlights conjured up mystical pictures and scenes. Adding to the grand spectacle, the rippling water acted as a natural mirror, gently reflecting the lights above it.

The Chamber would like to thank La Camara, the Spanish-Australian Chamber, for its great cooperation. Joint soical events like this enable our members and guests to meet even more new contacts, with new, friendly faces from additional networks. All staff at the chamber look forward to meeting members at additional social events during this special anniversary year.
