Christmas in July @ Munich Brauhaus in Melbourne

The Christmas cheer was buzzing at Melbourne's Christmas in July event on Wednesday 27 July at the Munich Brauhaus South Wharf.

It was a great night celebrating Christmas with members and friends over a lovely glass of Glühwein, followed by Brauteller (German sausage tasting plates).

Lars Mehlan, the Chamber's Director - Events & Marketing, kicked off the evening with a welcome to everyone and then introduced Principal Partner for the Christmas in July events this year, National Sales Manager Peter Di Bari from LeasePlan Australia. Peter, who is new to LeasePlan, introduced the company to the audience and wished everyone a great evening.

Our guests were given a treat by the Munich Brauhaus’s House Band who entertained us with some Christmas carols.

The much anticipated Christmas raffle took place just after the main course, with Lars Mehlan announcing the prizes and special guest Gabi Konecsny from Gewürzhaus, who sponsored prizes 3 and 4. Stefan Welack from Polygot Group and Rolf Drohn, Executive Director at Ernst & Young, both received the spice racks from Gewürzhaus; they were very excited to be proud owners of such spice racks!

Peter De Bari from LeasePlan helped draw Prize 2, the Munich Brauhaus gift voucher, which was awarded to Oliver Jankowsky, Partner at Hall & Wilcox Lawyers. He is looking forward to redeeming his voucher soon and also was heard saying that he had never won anything before!

A drumroll for first prize began: one night's accommodation at the InterContinental Sydney, including a place in the Chamber's Sailing Regatta in Sydney. The prize was awarded to Ali Beigy, at Vitronic Machine Vision Australia.

With a brief thank you from Executive Director Kristian Wolf, and a reminder that no one would be leaving empty handed thanks to our inkind sponsors Beiersdorf, DB Schenker, Freudenberg Household Products, Haribo, Lebkuchen Schmidt and Schwarzkopf & Henkel Australia. All sponsors were generous in providing gifts for everyone to take home. Of course, it was then time to move onto dessert, where all attendees continued to mingle and network with other members and friends.

The German-Australian Chamber of Industry and Commerce would like to thank again all partners for the event, especially Principal Partner LeasePlan.
