Change in AINST Leadership Team

The Australian Institute for Nanoscale Science and Technology (AINST) would like to announce a change in its leadership team. Professor Susan Pond has taken the role as AINST Director commencing early March 2017, with Dr Gunther Schmidt continuing as Chief Operating Officer, appointed in June 2016. With Professor Pond’s experience in research and industry across Science and Engineering and Dr Schmidt’s industry and business experience, the upcoming year holds much promise.

The AINST was established in 2014 as a multidisciplinary institute to pool together all nano-resources, research and industry engagement opportunities across the University. The Institute is a direct result from the University’s 2016-2020 Strategy with the focus towards a horizontal interdisciplinary structure, moving away from the previous vertical siloed faculties. As we are for the University, we aim to represent Australia on a global scale as the key national institute for nanoscale science and technology.
