On Sunday, 26 February, the German-Australian Chamber of Industry and Commerce welcomed its guests to a dinner with the Bavarian Academic Delegation, led by Bavarian State Secretary Bernd Sibler at the Amora Jamison Hotel in Sydney. The delegation consisted of 16 presidents and vice-presidents of Bavarian universities and universities of applied sciences, all of whom came to Australia to strengthen cooperation with their Australian partners and seek new scientific (but also commercial) partnerships for the future.

Dr Wolfgang Babeck, member of the AHK board, opened the evening on behalf of the AHK by welcoming the delegation and our guests. Bernd Sibler thanked all participants for joining them that evening and was then followed by Consul General Lothar Freischlader, who mentioned the importance of strengthening the ties between German and Australian relations. In total, 60 guests attended the special dinner. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the signing of two cooperation contracts between the University of Technology Sydney and the University of Applied Sciences Ansbach, as well as the International College of Management Sydney and the University of Applied Sciences Aschaffenburg.

The evening offered a great opportunity for the delegation and its partners to network and exchange ideas for future scientific and commercial cooperation between Bavaria and Australia. The delegation will visit Canberra, Melbourne and Brisbane before returning to Bavaria.
