On Thursday, 17 March the German-Australian Chamber of Industry and Commerce and EY invited members, clients and friends to a highly informative evening forum about the impact of the regulatory developments between Australia and Germany.

More than 30 participants attended the seminar at the International Chamber House and listened to the presentation by our 4 speakers from EY. Rolf Drohn, Executive Director, Tax Centre for Excellence and Trevor Hughes, Tax Partner, Business Tax Services together with Annika Steketee, Senior Manager, Business Tax Services as well as Carsten Rothermel, Director in EY’s Financial Services division shared interesting and useful insights with our guests. The presentation explored what the new German Australian Double Tax Agreement means for your business and discussed potential opportunities and impacts of a Free Trade Agreement between Australia and the European Union. Germany’s central role in this negotiation was particularly mentioned. Last but not least valuable updates of general purpose financial statements and country-by-country reporting were provided.

The function concluded with a vivid Q&A session followed by networking with drinks and some delicious finger food.

The German-Australian Chamber of Industry and Commerce would like to thank you for attending our evening forum. We would like to express our sincere thanks to our event partner EY for their excellent and professional presentation and support in realizing this event.
