Business Lunch with the Hon. Gladys Berejiklian MP

The German-Australian Chamber of Industry and Commerce was delighted to welcome The Hon. Gladys Berejiklian MP, Premier of NSW for a special Business Lunch on Friday, 10 November at The Star in Sydney. The function, which was supported by Sponsor SunSuper and was also a joint venture of the German-Australian Chamber, the American Chamber of Commerce in Australia, the Australian British Chamber of Commerce, and the French Australian Chamber of Commerce, was an unique opportunity to hear directly from the NSW Premier on the topic of ‘The NSW Boom and How Trade Will Benefit the State’.

Guests, Members and Friends of the chambers arrived at 11:30 am at The Star Event Centre, which provided a venue for the lunch and subsequent networking. After a delicious two-course lunch was served to over 500 attendees, the audience fell silent in anticipation of the inaugural address of The Hon. Gladys Berejiklian MP.  After welcoming words and acknowledgment of all Dignitaries and honorary members of the Nations present by Moderator Ticky Fullerton of Sky News.

Afterwards The Premier took the stage and addressed the audience, elaborating on topics like the current boom of the NSW economy and the projects involved. She emphasized that there are currently over 500 projects of various sizes in NSW, which each exceed the AUD10$ million mark.The Premier then went on to explain how the government tries to make sure that NSW taxpayers get the best deal out of these projects and how they will benefit from them. The Hon. Gladys Berejiklian invited businesses and investors to trust in New South Wales to deliver excellent outcomes in current and future projects, enhanced by the good people-to-people relations within the state. After the encouraging words by The Premier, Ticky Fullerton joined her on the stage again to begin the Q&A session, which consisted of questions the audience had been invited to hand in prior to the event.

The Premier answered questions from an extensive range of fields and talked among many others about dual citizenship, the rising cost of energy and its economic implications for companies in Sydney and all of NSW and Sydney´s future as a global city.

After the address and Q&A had drawn to a close, a Raffle prize was awarded to one lucky winner and guests were invited to network further over tea and coffee and the event concluded after over two hours of insightful discussion.
