The new German Australian Double Tax Agreement in the time of a changing International Tax Landscape

On Tuesday 9 February, the German-Australian Chamber of Industry and Commerce was very pleased to welcome 25 guests for a Breakfast Seminar about the German Australian Double Tax Agreement in the time of a changing International Tax Landscape. The Seminar was kindly hosted by PwC. While enjoying a Continental Breakfast, the participants had the chance to follow a very informative presentation by Christian Holle, Partner at Pricewaterhouse Coopers and Hendrik Hilgenfeld, Senior Manager at PwC.

The Seminar illustrated the background to the new treaty, which has been signed on 12 November 2015 and thereby replaced one of Australia's oldest tax treaties. Christian Holle explained the changes to the previous treaty and the implications for businesses and individuals involved in cross border investment, trade and employment between Germany and Australia. After the fruitful presentation, our guests took the chance to dig deeper into the matter with a Q&A.

The German-Australian Chamber would like to thank Christian Holle and Hendrik Hilgenfeld for the interesting presentation about such an important and present topic! Thanks as well to PwC, who kindly hosted the event and to our guests which contributed to such an informative seminar.

We look forward to welcoming you to one of our next events!
